Recently I’ve been noticing so many emerging fashion designers and fashion band startups not making it past their first three years of running a sustainable fashion business and it occurred to me that most of them have similar problems.

You’ve been working 14 hour days with no social life for 3 months or more putting your heart and soul into a 20 piece collection but only get 2 or 3 sales of only one of your designs

You’ve been in business for 1 to 3 years but still losing money and every 3 to 6 months your new collection goes over budget so now you’re wondering if you can even afford to do another season.

For 1 to 2 years you’ve been trying different products and posting images of them on instagram at least five times a week in an attempt to get your brand noticed but no-one is interested to even visit your website far less buy anything. You feel it’s such a waste of time and there must be some secret people aren’t telling you about.

For every 10 items sold you receive 2 returns. Your customers tick the “quality issue” box but don’t tell you the exact problem. You don’t know what to look for and find it really hard to find a good manufacturer to help.

Your family and friends love your products, especially since you give them a huge discount, but they all tell you that your full prices are too high because they can buy similar in Zara or Cos for only a quarter of what you are charging.
